Graham, are you able to assist my daughter who has 10 days left to submit her final year project. Unfortunately, her lecturer has being saying he will get around to it ,he now says that he doesn’t have time this term. She is devastated. She has been on you tube, web pages and so forth without success. It is probably something simple but its double Dutch to me. Natasha is working in Indesign and the problem below involves interactivity and buttons, but not the simple buttons if that makes sense. The ipad app is only fictitious and isn’t going live I don’t think it even has to work on an ipad!!
For my Ipad I need to create a:
Splash Screen (Load straight away)
Home Screen:-
a push notification pop up (haven’t made the ‘continue’ page yet., and cancel button, to work on page load
a navigation pop up (want it to link to a video which i haven’t embedded yet. and to load straight after the push notification is cancelled. However when I preview this, using the same ‘actions’ as the push up it doesn’t show up. Is this because it is placed exactly behind the push pop up box?
On the master page the bottom menu buttons however when i try use a (button>go to page…>) it doesnt seem to work. Is this because it’s on the Master B Page?
a olympic lookbook page. A series of photos have been grouped together and use animation>move left when using rollover left and right buttons. When clicking on photo they are each buttons that link to a “send to” box that leads to facebook and email (email link i havent done yet). On the facebook link I have made the small photos and back button animation>facebook>reverse action. This is supposed to go back to the olympic lookbook photos again but it doesnt work. I’m not sure why on this one!
On the women’s lookbook, the buttons only seem to work once. I use left and right rollover buttons animation move left however it goes weird on me! And each photo is a button goes to a animation link that enlarges the photo. But when i “go back” from this enlarged photo none of the links work again.
A trend page hasn’t been completed yet but I hope that each ‘moodboard’ is going to be a button that will get the text and colourways appear for each one but haven’t finished that yet.
I also have to create a men’s photoshoot page, collection of all the clothes (with star ratings), a wishlist page where a button is clicked of a shirt/skirt etc in collection that will then be put into the wishlist page, a videos page where i need to embed the videos, a stores page where each text links to a map and other headings and finally a help page!! eek! it has confused me so much
Hi Alvin, I’m not sure how much help I can be with this I’m afraid. I don’t have much experience of using InDesign for interactive prototypes – I am more likely to use Axure or Omnigraffle for this type of task. If she doesn’t have those applications, she might be better off using something like Powerpoint or Keynote to convey simple user flows using call-outs to demonstrate additional states or behaviours.
