Its really heart warming to see the BBC is making waves in broadcasting live events over the internet. Being able to watch world cup coverage via the BBC website is undoubtedly a huge draw. It has however, raised some interesting user experience issues with AV led content. With so much of the UK able to recieve broadband internet, theres a lot more of this to come and our sites simply aren't capable of allowing effective promotion of live content (check out the screen shot). The juicy content is stuck deep down in text heavy pages, shunted into the corner by some ogre of a content management system. BBC 2 has recently launched its broadband console to replace its old site (which was essentially a nice looking schedules page). Interactive Factual and Learning have also been working on media rich sites for some time.
